According to a 2017 report by the Bureau of Justice, the average response time for the police to arrive at a nonfatal violent crime scene after someone calls 911 is ten minutes. The study was conducted between 2006 and 2015. Since then, the average response time has gotten slower and slower every year. It is difficult to determine how much slower since most police departments hide this information from the public.
The idea that law enforcement will protect us from crime is nothing but a myth. Most violent crimes are finished in under two minutes leaving the criminals eight minutes or more to escape. This tells all Americans one thing; we must be prepared to defend ourselves.
As an example, a few years ago, I reported a burglary in progress at a house behind me and had to call 911 several times to try to get the police to come out. Other residents called as welI and it still took over and hour for them to arrive. By then, the thief was long gone and no one was ever arrested.
At another town I once lived in, my house was burglarized and it took the police over three hours to show up. They only showed up because I wouldn’t stop calling until they arrived. Their excuse for not coming was that the entire police force was out on other calls. That was a blatant lie.
The police don’t want to file reports and they certainly don’t want to put any effort into solving these crimes. They also refuse to arrest the offender even when they know who he is and where to find him.
As proof of this, I will share another incident that happened. In 2017, I was assaulted by a convicted child molester in another state and, to my surprise, the police showed up in under five minutes. Of course the child molester had already fled the crime scene before the police arrived. The police saw my bloodied face and I told them the criminal’s name and even found out the address of this child molester for them, but, despite the evidence and knowing the violent criminal history of the perpetrator, they refused to arrest him because they didn’t want to be bothered with the paperwork. Also, because the police refused to arrest him, the child molester continued to go to the same property where I was assaulted and burglarized it over a period of several days (the police were aware of this as well and did nothing).
Here is yet another example of the police refusing to do their jobs. There is a drug dealer next door to me that the local police won’t investigate. I’ve reported the drug dealer’s activities several times and, so far, no investigation has been initiated. This is most likely because the drug dealer’s wife is a probation officer in another city. Just to show how much of a lowlife this drug dealer is, he does drug deals and other illegal drug activities in front of his five year old son. His wife has screamed ar him for doing this but does nothing to stop it. She must think that our neighborhood doesn’t know that she knows about her drug-dealing husband. We do.
The owner of the property also knows that his tenant is a drug dealer but doesn’t care since he lives in another city. (As a side note: he will care when his property is seized for being aware of illegal drug activities at his property and doing nothing to stop it.)
These are all examples that show the necessity for us to exercise our right to bear arms. By being armed, we can prevent many crimes and protect ourselves and our loved ones.
Many politicians don’t want us to exercise our second amendment rights in order to protect ourselves. However, those same hypocrite politicians hire armed security to protect them.
The politicians that seek to deny our rights must be voted out of office and the laws that they have put into place must be overturned. Additionally, we must exercise our right to bear arms by purchasing them and also learning how to use them properly.
